Sample Files

Below are sample files to be used in either the web version or command line version of the Phylomarker program.

Genbank Test Files:
Oryzias latipes Sample
Takifugu rubripes Sample


FASTA Test Files:
Oryzias latipes Sample
Takifugu rubrips Sample

To use these sample files to test the web tool follow the following steps:

  1. Download the two sample data files.
  2. Go to the Web Tool page.
  3. Enter 800 for exon size, 75 for identity, and 50 for coverage.
  4. Click the Ok button to view the file upload boxes.
  5. Click each of the "Choose File" buttons and then select one of the sample files.
  6. Click the 'Run Phylomarker' button
  7. After the files are uploaded, you should see various status messages appear.
    For Genbank Sample files:
    You should end up with 10 records and 6 putative single copy exons for Takifugu, and 2 records with 2 putative single copy exons for Oryzias. In the end you should have 1 putative orthologous exons written to file.
  8. For the FASTA sample files:
    You should end up with 3 records and 3 putative single copy exons for Takifugu, and 3 records with 2 putative single copy exons for Oryzias. In the end you should have 2 putative orthologous exons written to file.
  9. Click the 'Here' link to download the result excel file
